SisterhoodTemple Sisterhood

The Temple Beth Tikvah Sisterhood is a vital part of the TBT community, providing for many of the temple's needs. Each year annual dues are collected prior to the beginning of the Jewish new year at Rosh Hashanah. Annual Sisterhood dues are only $30.00 for members of TBT and $36.00 for non-members. These dues allow the Sisterhood to keep our temple kitchen stocked; provide paper goods, coffee and drinks for our Oneg Shabbats and other Holy Day celebrations, like our Rosh Hashanah Apples & Honey Oneg, Yom Kippur Break Fast and our Hanukkah Menorah Lighting Service. It also goes to purchase all of the ritual foods for our Passover Seder; put on the Annual Chicken Soup Cook-Off; purchase gifts for our B’nai Mitzvah kids; supplement other Sisterhood events and help our temple in so many ways.

Please consider making a donation of $30.00 or $36.00 to the TBT Sisterhood this year to ensure that we can continue to support our temple. A donation will not commit you to any of the Sisterhood responsibilities or activities. But you are always more than welcome to join us any time something we have planned catches your eye! Look for our activities calendar in your inbox, the Chailights and Newsbriefs. Please mail your contribution to Temple Beth Tikvah at: 12411 Park Shadows Drive, Houston, TX 77058, Attn: Joyce Johnson, TBT Sisterhood Treasurer or just look for Joyce at Friday night services and give your check directly to her. We are grateful to each and every one of you who can donate any amount that is comfortable to you.

The TBT Sisterhood is open to all women with a connection to Judaism who are looking for fellowship and fun. We'd love to have you join us this year! Please contact Sherry Bogus, Sisterhood President at: sfbogus@gmail.com, for more information about membership.

Sisterhood Book Club

Sisterhood The TBT Sisterhood Book Club meets to discuss a selected book and enjoy a light snack at 7:30 pm on the fourth Wednesday evening of each month in a member's home. During the summers, we switch to the fourth Sunday of the month at 11:30 am for a light brunch meeting. Our meetings are informal, informative, and fun. See the Book Club Schedule in the Chailights Sisterhood Report link below. All book choices can be found new or used at Amazon.Com (if you use this link, TBT will earn income for each book purchased) or at the Freeman Library. Please join us for what always turns out to be a lively discussion. And, don't worry if you haven't had time to get the book and/or finish it, everyone is welcome.
