fabulous job of organizing and executing the Purim Carnival. With the help of Dana, Joyce, Veronica and others, Claudia Lezell and her Youth Group kids had games, food and activities planned for all. The hamentaschen they made at the Salinskys' house was delicious. Jewpardy was exciting as always. And the weather couldn't have been more perfect. It was the quintessential Welcome-to-Spring festival! Claudia, the Youth Group kids and all of the people who pitched in and helped out deserve a great big, mushy THANK YOU! Senior Youth Group
The TBT Senior Youth Group met at Ichiban Japanese Steakhouse for dinner on Sunday, February 28. We had four members and several parents crowded around a hibachi table to enjoy the "show" and delicious food. We will be having an end-of-the-year cookout at the Gorback's home to celebrate one more time together. Look for e-vites later this month.
And, as we say goodbye to those seniors who will be going out into the world this year, I want to express my admiration one more time. Each one of these young adults are high achievers and leaders in their schools. They are incredibly busy with schoolwork, jobs and extracurricular activities. And yet, they remain dedicated to Temple BethTikvah through their teaching and B'nai Mitzvah tutoring. The fact that they find time to pass on their Jewish learning to the next generation of kids is an incredibly powerful statement, about them and the congregation they love. We've done good! And, as the mother of two of those, I want to thank the entire TBT family for being the positive, nurturing environment that has encouraged my children to live ethically, empathetically and Jewish-ly.
